Overview

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is one of the most famous UK walks and is a must for anybody calling themselves 'Yorkshire bred'.

Because it is approximately 25 miles long and takes in three of Yorkshire's largest peaks it is an event which comes with a certain amount of folklore and mystique but is suitable for anybody who likes a challenges and does not rely on people having high levels of fitness. It's a walking challenge and not a running challenge and so is achievable by anybody who feels they can keep walking 8-12 hours with only small breaks and rests along the way.

It will require some resilience from some people but then it wouldn't be a challenge if it was easy.

You will be supported all the way on this challenge and just in case you want to retire early you will have support for this possibility also and be returned to the start to meet and greet fellow walkers as they complete this epic challenge.

In essence, this is an arduous, full days walking on the hills. All equipment requirements can be seen on the event breakdown document available for download from the 'info' tab of the site navigation bar.

This is a synopsis of the event but further details can found on the full event itinerary under the 'info' tab of the website.

You will meet us from 6.30am at the Pen Y Ghent café in Horton In Ribbledale village which is our start and finish point of this challenge.

Mountain guides will be on hand to offer guidance and support right from the start and you can use these to determine which level you will be walking at.

7.15- a mandatory safety brief will be given and it's a final chance to check your kit and ensure nothing is forgotten and ensure we have sufficient time to access the toilets before setting off with those last minute nerves.

8-12 hours later you will return to the start point having checked in at each checkpoint along the way.

We recommend you support the local community after the finish and have a great cup of our famous Yorkshire tea in the PYG café or savour one of their famous all day breakfasts!

After your party have all returned you are free to return home safely and celebrate in style over the rest of the weekend glowing in the aura of your 'success'.
